View Full Version : mcpv-1 ,No pedal

I have installed the master along with your disc brake conversion. The pedal travel is fine but brakes do not engage until about 1/2" before it hits the floor. The master has been properly bench bled by your techs and myself. There is no air in the lines. The car originally had power brakes so the pedal rod is in the proper location. Booster rod to master is properly adjusted. I have tried everything and cannot get the pedal to come up. Please help.

One thing to consider is the stock power brake pivot hole in the pedal is lower then were a stock manual brake pivot hole would be. It the pedal has 2 holes go in the stock upper hole. If not; drill one 1" higher then the power position.

already did that as I stated the original brakes were power.

the pedal is aprox 4" from the floor, when you press it there is no resistance until about the last 1/2" then the brakes engage.

Well, With a MCPV-1 you need to make sure that you have no more then 1/32-1/16" free play between the master and the pushrod. Also, The MCPV-1 can be a little tough to bench bleed so the use of a plastic syringe is a good thing to help prime the chamber. If you pump the pedal and it does come up it would be air and the bleeding of the master on a bench again would be recommended.

Pumping the brakes does absolutely nothing for the pedal.

Ok, then the recommendation of would need to be checked: With a MCPV-1 you need to make sure that you have no more then 1/32-1/16" free play between the master and the pushrod.
