Took my belair for a short test drive over the weekend to the parts store and the steering felt really weird and the tires would squeal when I turned. Pulled over to take a look and see what was going on and the idler arm had somehow twisted around and was pointing toward the front of the car, the left inner tierod was bent, and the center link was about 6 inches away from the cross member when normally it is right up against it. I have the cpp powersteering kit with their center link and idler arm with new tierods. Has anyone ever seen anything like this happen or know why it would do it? I got everything moved back how it should and have been turning the wheel back and forth to see if I can get it to do it again and no luck. I'm just concerned about it happening again and bending more tierods or doing it when I'm going around a turn a lot faster. Called the tech line and was not very pleased with the assistance I received.

Here are some pictures, but kind of hard to see. In the first picture you can see how the idler arm is facing the wrong direction.

The only thing I could think of is that the steering is not centered allowing the one direction to over extend.

The pitman arm is parallel with the frame, but the idler arm is off center about 2 inches. Would it be possible to get the measurements off a center link in stock? I am starting to wonder if I have the wrong center link as it seems like mine is too short to get everything centered.
