I'm in the middle of installing a CPP rear disc brake kit on my 70 El Camino and I have a question I hope I can get a quick answer. The inside brake pads that came with the calipers were held in with a wire retaining ring, was this ring used for shipping purposes or am I suppose to keep it on permanently?
