I installed the 500 series power steering conversion kit on my 57 Belair about a year ago. I had trouble getting hoses to seal properly at both the pump and box ends. Had to resort to Teflon tape and they still didn't seal properly. Drove car on road trip last Sept and it threw the p/s belt off and hoses continually leaked at thread ends. Makes a mess of my engine and frame. I am using the front engine mount/pump bracket and cannot get the pump pulley to stay aligned when I tighten the belt ( that's why it throws the belt off). Any suggestions there? Also, how do I get the hoses to stop leaking???
