David Snyder Honored at AACA Museum

      With Automotive Art Display

Hershey, PA (August 17, 2010). If you’re a car lover there’s only one place to be in early October and that’s the AACA Fall Meet in Hershey, PA. As part of “Meet Week” festivities this year, nationally recognized automotive artist David Snyder will display his award winning paintings and prints in the Upper Level Rotunda of the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum (AACA Museum).

David Snyder started drawing cars, airplanes and trains at the age of six. His passion for transportation history continues today. David graduated from Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati, Ohio. A successful career in advertising as a designer, art director and illustrator left him yearning to paint the transportation history he remembered from his youth. The artistry of the automobile never escaped his attention. David's art portrays memories of growing up with cars from the '50's through the American Muscle era. He takes you down memory lane inviting you to "step right in" to his paintings and visit the past. The period architecture, signage, oil cans in the garage bay-no detail is too small- all are a part of his passion. Known for fidelity of detail he spends countless hours on research before even beginning a painting.
From Monday, October 4th through Sunday, October 10th David Snyder will showcase his display of award- winning automotive themed paintings and prints in the Upper Rotunda Gallery of the AACA Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. David will be present and demonstrate his technique as he works on a new painting. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask David about his art, his technique and his success in the automotive art industry. The display will be open daily until Sunday, October 10, 2010. David’s array of paintings and prints will also be available for purchase.

David is one of six artists to be honored to participate in the "Pumps on Parade" auction, part of the annual Night at the Museum Gala and Auction to benefit the AACA Family. The artists are showcasing their unique styles and painting directly on a replica gas pump, donating each one-of-a-kind piece of art to the AACA Club, Library and Museum. The gas pumps will be auctioned Wednesday evening, October 6th as a feature of the "Night at the Museum" Gala. All pumps will be on display in the AACA Museum’s lobby until the auction on October 6th. Details for the event can be found at www.NightAtTheMuseum.org.
